Earlier today, Israel did not allow to a ship carrying international humanitarian help, medical and food supplies for the non-military Palestinian populations to reach Gaza. An Israeli patrol ship attacked in international waters, the ship DIGNITY and yet the Israeli Navy did not allow the hit ship to reach either Lebanon or Egypt, and demanded that the ship would go back to Cyprus, though they did know that the ship did not have enough fuel to do so.
On board to the ship were:
Denis Healey, captain, from Great Britain, George Klontzas, second captain from Greece, Nikolaos Mpolos, first officer from Greece, Othman Abu Falah, from Jordan, Renee Bowyer, from Australia, Caoimhe Butterly, from Ireland, Aikaterini Christodoulou, journalist from Cyprus, Sami El-Haj, from Sudan, journalist of Al Jazeera and ex detainee in Guantanamo, Dr. David Halpin, from Great Britain, orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Mohamed Issa, from Germany, Fathi Jaouadi, from Tunisia, British citizen and TV producer, Cynthia McKinney, ex member of the US Parliament, Martha Paisi, from Cyprus, Karl Penhaul, from Great Britain, CNN correspondent, Thaer Shaker, from Irak, filmmaker of Al Jazeera and Helen Theocharous, child surgeon and member of the Cyprus Parliament, leader of the mission.
Finally the ship reached port in Lebanon, but the subject of sending humanitarian help still rests!
